  • Must possess an associate's college degree or higher.
  • Minimum of six years of experience as a full-time Fire Inspector.
  • Complete the course Evaluating Performance-Based Designs - (16531)
  • Hold the following NFPA Certificate - Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS).



Fire Inspector III Certificate is valid for four years and must be renewed by completing a minimum of 54 hours of CEUs.

This is a restricted enrollment program.  Students must be a law enforcement officer, crime scene technician, a certified firefighter or fire inspector in the State of Florida.
